[without the nagging doubts of how and when to do it, feeling like an impostor, or being completely overwhelmed about where to start]
So I’ll spare you the song and dance.
No need to state the obvious and convince you of something that you already feel passionately about.
After all, you probably already know that translating your passion to your workplace is one of the easiest ways to lead a more fulfilling and exciting life as well as to positively impact your organization, the environment and your community.
You’ve probably also heard that the green and sustainability sector is conservatively estimated to grow to a $12 trillion a year market by 2030. (Source: Business & Sustainable Development Commission, 2017).
And I'm sure you've figured out that by taking action, you are building your going green and sustainability skills and positioning yourself as a sustainability change agent and leader within your organization and potentially, even within your industry.
Adding sustainability and going green knowledge and change management skills to your toolbox will challenge you to grow as a person and as a professional, allowing you to expand your knowledge base, know yourself better, and inspire and motivate others along the way.
Even if you are not ‘the’ boss or don’t have a budget, successfully implementing a going green project can make you stand out and enhance your reputation among your colleagues, making you more eligible for a promotion or to get that project that you’ve been dreaming of.
This can lead to networking opportunities, consulting jobs, speaking gigs, valuable partnerships and all sorts of exciting and unexpected opportunities that can take your career in a direction you only dreamed of previously.
By bringing new ideas and showing the benefits of sustainability and going green to your colleagues, you can catalyze a change in the culture and direction of your organization, where products and services that are better for the planet and the community and that make financial sense become the norm - and you are responsible for this significant shift.
But where and how do I start?
Perhaps you’ve attended a climate rally and decided that you’re finally going to take action to make a difference, and that the most logical place to start would be where you spend most of your waking hours - at work. And maybe you’ve even jotted down some ideas, taken a few notes and started getting ready for a conversation with your direct manager.
If you’re super motivated, maybe you’ve even spoken to friends or colleagues about the need to make a difference and create change and brainstormed some potential starter green projects, assuring yourself that you’ll get started at some point in the near future.
Even with the best intentions, most would-be green change leaders end up abandoning their project and ideas, allowing other urgent projects to take priority or talking themselves out of doing something that is near and dear to their heart because it’s not in their job description or they think it’s already being done.
You can’t afford to let your dream go.
Here’s why most would-be green change leaders don’t get started.
Without an straightforward, clear step-by-step approach, most would-be green change leaders get in their own way and give up.
They look at others who are creating sustainability-related change within their organization, who make it look so easy, or who have been doing it their entire career, and think that they do not have the time, skill set or knowledge to position themselves as a green change leader within their own organization.
They might also see that their organization has already started taking some actions around going green, and so they feel that they’re late to the party.
Here’s why this is damaging....
As a busy professional, who is inundated with information, projects and tasks, it is easy to let your dreams and passions fall by the wayside - and most people do.
It is easy to talk yourself out of something that you would love to do but is outside of your comfort zone.
The moment you move on and you give up on incorporating your passion in a major area of your life (i.e. your work), you give up on yourself and on a more exciting, satisfying life.
Therefore, becoming a green change leader- if that is your aspiration - is something you want to do as soon as possible, and NEED to get right the first time.
Thankfully, it is not too late for you to take action - no matter how long you’ve been dreaming about doing this. The green and sustainability market is not saturated, nor has your organization figured out all the ways they can go green (if they’ve started down that path).
On the contrary, the sustainability sector is growing, products and services are being added DAILY, and sustainability and going green is being increasingly recognized as a must have by organizations large and small.
Which means that....
Even if you feel like you’re late getting started, or don't have the skill set or knowledge, and that there’s no point in trying, you have a golden opportunity to jump in, move through past roadblocks, and become a green change leader within your organization.
That is, if you choose to move past those obstacles that have been stopping you until now.
(or that you should hire one instead of doing this yourself - even if you’re passionate about it)
Taking the first steps towards becoming a green change leader isn’t particularly hard or complicated but there are foreseen and unforeseen mental and physical roadblocks that need to be reviewed and addressed.
Figuring out what’s been stopping you, why you think you need to be an expert, what knowledge you need vs what you can gain later.
These are just some of the questions you’ll have to answer along the way.
Most potential change leaders just dive in.
The thing is, you can’t treat being a change leader and following your passion as just another project or task on your to-do list.
It’s a valuable and empowering experience that, when done right, can propel your self-confidence as well as your standing within the organization and even within your community.
It’s important to respect it for what it is - a transformational experience - and approach it accordingly.
(luckily, if you’re not 'in charge', it doesn’t mean you can’t create change!)
I completely understand and respect the need to have your direct manager sign off on a potential going green project.
If you’re excited about going green and doing this as a ‘pet project’, regardless of where you are in the organization, you’ll likely feel like you need sign-off and/or buy-in from your direct manager, colleagues or other stakeholders.
And while that may be the case, there are some projects that you can undertake and slowly build momentum and make the business case for that might not require a lot of time and therefore sign-off.
Without breaking the bank (or even needing to spend extra money).
Without neglecting your other responsibilities.
Without burning bridges with your colleagues or raising eyebrows.
Figuring out what those potential projects are is part of the process. Bringing others on board is a subsequent step. All can be achieved with the right approach.
(whether it should be a project that you're passionate about or one that others are excited about or something else)
What to focus on first, how to figure out your first project and implement it so that it doesn’t suck up all of your time, who to collaborate with internally…
These are just some of the many questions you’ll have to answer along the way.
Most would-be green change leaders don’t have the time to sift through the myriad resources that provide information about the different ways to approach sustainability.
Not to mention learning about a particular sub-topic, which can be a full-time job onto itself.
The thing is, figuring out which project to start with, when done right, can be straight-forward.
Again, you don’t need to be an environmental sustainability expert to get it right – you just need the right tools to get you started.
(and mistakenly thinking that spending a little bit of time on it each week won’t get you results)
I know it’s hard to believe, but becoming a green change leader doesn’t have to be an immense mountain that you need to climb.
Many falsely believe that this will take over their other work life and they won’t get their work done.
Or that it will cost an arm and a leg to get a project started.
So instead of starting on a small scale, and building up momentum, they don’t even begin.
There are many ways to approach being a green change leader within your organization - whether that is an organization that you lead or one that you are a part of - and there are many different types of projects.
Depending on your passion and your interests, you can get started looking at the building, business operations, or the organizational culture. You can look at the products or services, partnerships, or procurement policies.
Starting small means that you don’t necessarily even need funds for it.
The reality is that, wherever you choose to start – be it building, operations, culture, or something else - you can start slowly then build momentum.
And it doesn’t have to cost a lot - or any - money.
(or that you’re not the right person to help them move further down the green or sustainability path)
Maybe someone else in your organization has already taken the initiative to start a project or two.
You look at that and think…
Oh well. Wish it was me. There goes another opportunity wasted.
But that’s where I would gently tell you to reconsider.
Instead of looking at this as a loss, look at it as proof that your organization cares about this topic.
Get excited.
What could you do to support your organization?
How are the projects and actions that your colleagues are taking now working out?
What could be improved?
Who could you team up with to take this further and make going green and sustainability part of the organizational culture?
These are questions I would encourage you to ask yourself.
It’s only a failure if you stop trying - it’s only too late for you to be a green change leader within your organization if you don’t do anything.
Don’t give up on your dream so easily.
NOW is the perfect time for you to take action on this.
To see how you can get involved.
Who knows - the person who started it might not have time to continue with going green, or might be need help and support, or might feel like she/he is losing momentum and need new ideas.
You won’t know until you take action.
Hi there, Anca Novacovici here.
Did you know that even though many individuals aspire to become green change leaders, very few succeed? A few people will do it well, while many others dream about it but will not even try, or try then give up.
The main reason for this, as you’ve likely seen by now, is that while the barriers to entry are relatively low...
...the barriers to EFFECTIVE EXECUTION are fairly high.
But as long as you can avoid the biggest roadblocks that stop most would-be green change leaders, the path is clear for you to become a successful green change leader, one that allows you to combine your passion with your work, grow your leadership skills and sustainability knowledge, and make an impact on your organization, the planet and your community.
The key ingredients to all of this is mindset and picking the right project to successfully implement.
And with your permission, that’s what I’d love to show you how to do.
Introducing
Yes, you’ll learn to address the mindset challenges that may have been holding you back, but you’ll also learn how to get started quickly so that you can gain momentum and stop procrastinating or making excuses about why you can’t be a green change leader.
The Green Change Leader Quick Start is the first program of its kind that…
Addresses the mindset AND implementation.
Most programs look only at the ‘how to’, which is crucial, but without first delving deeper into what has been stopping you from taking action, and what you need to address in order to become a successful leader, chances are high that you’ll review the program info then use that same excuse that’s been stopping you in the past to not take action. I want to make sure that this is not the case, which is why mindset is the focus of the first module in the Green Change Leader Quick Start program.
Walks you through successful implementation steps
This Quick Start program gives you the tools you need to get started quickly, the 80/20 of what you need to do to be a confident and powerful green leader who can create change even if you’re not in charge, and walks you through how to actually pick and get started on your first project.
Focuses on quick and effective wins.
Since the Green Change Leader Quick Start is an implementation program, you’ll be working through step by step and week by week what you need to do for the first 30 days to catapult yourself into a green change leader role. I focus on only what you need to know, no fluff, no fillers, because I know your time is precious, and the clearer and more straight-forward the path is to getting started, the higher your likelihood of succeeding.
If you’ve dreamed of being a green change leader in the past but something’s been stopping you, this one’s for you.
Quit being down on yourself for not having started yet, or looking at what others are doing and thinking that there’s no way you could do that or that you’re too far behind - or too old!
I’ll walk you through how to uncover and move past your internal roadblocks - many of which you may not even be aware that you have.
First, we’ve diving into the definition of a TRUE green change leader and my checklist of what it takes to become that leader in your organization.
Next’, you’ll look at what’s been holding you back so you can hone your voice and vision, and ensure that the actions you are taking are aligned with your end goal.
Get ready to find and address your blind spots and get inspired to take action, through owning who you are.
Now that you have addressed your mindset roadblocks, let’s talk about how to choose your first project and ultimately grow your role with going green and sustainability within your organization… because mindset only won’t get you there.
In this module, I’ll share my tool to get you started figuring out which project to focus on.
You’ll get your hands on my sustainability assessment checklist that will help you quickly determine the top projects you could be focusing on and whittle that list down to your best choice.
By the end, you will have a prioritized list of projects that can give you and your organization quick wins so that you can remove the pressure of having to find ‘the’ perfect project and instead, focus on taking action.
You’ll get to pick the project that makes the most sense for you and your organization given your current situation.
Implementing your project does NOT have to be tedious. In fact, it is a great opportunity for building momentum.
I will equip you with our straight-forward planning process so you don’t have to wonder “how the heck do I get this project from idea to reality?” Save time, save yourself frustration, and act on your plan.
I’ll share the key ingredients for successfully pitching your project so that you can begin to identify supporters and champions for this and future projects.
I also walk you through potential obstacles and red flags that may show up when implementing your project so you can catch these before they become show stoppers. You’ll learn how to identify and address issues and move past them so that they don’t slow you or your project down.
What good is all of this action if it’s not supporting you to be an effective green change leader? It’s time to talk about the end game and how to take your first project and build on it to grow and maintain momentum.
One project? It’s a start, but when you introduce your direct manager and colleagues to the bigger picture, you’re on your way to creating real change.
We’ll explore and develop your greater vision - not just for your organization but for yourself as a green change leader - so that you are clear on the direction you are heading and you don’t have to stop and think about it with future projects.
You’ll also learn the top 3 things that you must do in order to ensure that the success of this project is a stepping stone to other green and sustainability projects and to a larger role for you as a green change leader.
Let me say this up front.

When you add it all up, that’s a total value of $3,362.

I want this course to be accessible to everyone who wants to make an impact at work and in the world and sees sustainability and going green as the way to do it. If you’re ready not only to implement a green project, but also to grow your leadership skills, create change, and address those mind blocks that have been stopping you from doing this and (frankly) other things, you’re in the right place.
And because I’m passionate about helping you to create change and make a positive difference in the world, and don’t want cost to be yet another hurdle that you have to overcome, you can grab the Quick Start program for just…

What people asked before signing up for the Green Change Leader Quick Start:
Don't worry! All is not lost - on the contrary.
If your organization has already started down the path to environmental sustainability, that is great news.
That means that there is support for this concept, and that you will likely need to spend less time convincing your colleagues and direct manager of the importance of this topic.
This also means that you may have the opportunity to join a team, grow your leadership skills, and still be a change leader - even if you're not in charge.
The Quick Start will help you bring projects and ideas to the table in order to support your organization's efforts - and this is bound to be seen as valuable by your colleagues and direct manager - one of the first steps in becoming a change leader!
The Green Change Leader Quick Start program is self-paced, meaning you can work as many or as little hours as your schedule allows.
A good rule of thumb would be an hour per week watching the lessons, and another 3-5 putting them into action.
Pretty much the same amount of time you’d spend in “figuring-it-out” mode to research sustainability topics.
But here’s the thing…
As you’ll find, the Quick Start program is designed for rapid results and momentum.
Meaning, as you stack up the wins and start seeing results, you’ll WANT to keep going.
You’ll WANT to make it the first thing you jump into when you get to work in the morning.
Because as you’ll soon see, becoming a change leader and implementing a sustainability project is simple when you know exactly what you need to be doing to get results without any wasted effort.
Green Change Leader Quick Start is a foundational program.
It’s for professionals within organizations who have been thinking about implementing a green project at work but who have been stuck and haven't taken action.
Unless going green and environmental sustainability is fully incorporated into your organization’s operations and culture, you have the opportunity to be a leader and the Green Change Leader Quick Start will be an essential tool in your personal and career growth kit.
There ARE a lot of courses about the topic of sustainability.
And many of them are great at teaching about sustainability.
The thing is…. they focus on the ‘what’ of sustainability.
Green Change Leader Quick Start is the ONLY course, based on our research, that walks you through the mindset and the ‘how’ to actually support you in becoming a leader and to implement a sustainability project (versus learning about RECs or energy management, etc…).
By the end of the program, you’ll have successfully addressed your mind blocks to taking action and identified, planned, and implemented a sustainability project.
And you can use the program to implement future sustainability projects so that you can stack win upon win and build a strong sustainability initiative at your organization.
I’ve spent the better part of the last year working on distilling what I’ve learned over the course of 14+ years supporting professionals and organizations with their sustainability efforts.
The result:
You get access to powerful, advanced, self-paced mindset, leadership and sustainability project implementation strategies, packaged and sequenced in a way that maximizes momentum and eliminates overwhelm.
You’re not going to do all the things at once.
You will follow the detailed, step-by-step lessons, rack up the wins, and implement your first project, then your second, then your third and not only become a leader, change agent, and sustainability specialist, but also make an impact and get great results for your organization.
As long as you promise to follow the strategies in their proper order and resist skipping ahead, and take advantage of the tools and resources offered, I promise to keep you on track.
Indefinitely!
Once you purchase the program, you have lifetime access to it.
That also means that you can go at your own pace – no one is rushing you to complete the modules or the ‘Smart Sheets’ and templates – you set the tempo.
Not only that, but I will be adding resources to the program, so over time, you will have access to additional tools to add to your green change leader toolkit.
And, you’ll be able to jump into the Facebook Group and ask questions of others who are going through this process and implementing sustainability projects, grow your support network, and learn from other committed and passionate environmental sustainability supporters.
I’m 100% committed to making Green Change Leader Quick Start the ONLY program you’ll need to get you started down the road to being a green leader within your organization.
So, here’s the deal…
I’m offering a 30-day satisfaction guarantee.
By the end of these 30 days, you’ll have received access to all four modules and related lessons, PDFs, presentations and audio files. Since you’ve committed to taking action, I expect that you’ll start right away and complete a module a week – and take the relevant actions to kick-start your sustainability project.
